carbon credit washing line

On returning back to living in Oz after 2 years in US it was bliss to use my washing line again. Our apartment in Boston didn't even have a line option as much of the freezing year it was dryer only, but in summer hey?
Anyway back home I hang with joy, breath in that great backyard air with the sun on my back and the massive camellia trees ahead. When my dryer died, I never replaced it.
If God has given us wind and sun I'll go with the blow.
With the added bonus of the grandchildren I've learnt that laundry hanging lends itself to so many games.
1/Please pass a red peg, blue peg, white peg.2/ Whose t-shirt is this? Whose sock?
3/ Lets hide & play parachute under this king size flat sheet.
4/ How many pegs can I clip onto your dress, fingers, jacket, hair?
I mean how much fun can you have with a dryer? I think of all the carbon credit I'm accumulating using solar & wind energy, and those few extra calories I burn carrying laundry basket, knee bend basket, peg and down again, and then in reverse with the return of the dry.
A relative from Canada was watching this quaint Aussie ritual while on a visit. She grabbed her camera to catch the action to show the folks back home.
I have a strong suspicion I'm the only laundry hanger on my block or even suburb, a dinosaur in Dover Heights, well then I must be the only granny whose kids get excited by the sound of the washing machine & all the fun that promises.  xx di-gittel
